A new public and patient-facing guide, developed from the Moving Forward Themed Review carried out by the CSP, Keele University and Versus Arthritis, has been published this month.
The guide summarises key MSK physiotherapy evidence from the initial review in an accessible format in order to help patients and the public make informed choices about seeking help, treatment options and how to stay well in the longer term. It was co-created with patient and public representatives.
Fran Hallam, research into practice adviser at the CSP, said: ‘This will be a useful tool for supporting shared decision making.
'CSP members and patients can use the guide to discuss evidence-based physiotherapy options available, supporting patients to make informed decisions about managing their musculoskeletal health and wellbeing in a way that works best for them.
‘For patients, it will promote a clear understanding of how physiotherapy can help.’
