APPG on Hospice and End of Life Care - Oral Session about increased deaths during the pandemic

The APPG on Hospice and End of Life Care are holding an oral session on the increase in deaths at home during the pandemic on Monday 13th December from 11.30 - 12.30.

At the session, Maureen Anderson will share her personal experience of caring for her Mum and Dad at home during their last days and weeks, after they were discharged from hospital in summer 2020. Dr Matt Sweeting, Director of Care at Farleigh Hospice in Essex, will also speak about how the hospice increased its provision of care in the community during the pandemic.

This is the second in a series of oral evidence sessions that aim to uncover and shine a spotlight on the experiences people have had of death, dying and bereavement during the COVID-19 pandemic. The minutes of the first session can be found at this link.

The session will take place on zoom between 11:30-12:30 on 13 December and be accessible via: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/8928033982  (Meeting ID: 892 8033 9823, Passcode: 12345).
