Up to 120 physiotherapists and physio students are required to volunteer to work in medical stations along the 26.2 mile route of the London Marathon on 22 April.

Sixty students are needed for note-taking tasks and 60 qualified physiotherapists for hands-on duties. CSP members can apply for the positions by sending an email to marathonphysio@gmail.com
Head physio for the finish line area, Rory Brown, told Frontline his quota for volunteers at the finish line was already full.
Meanwhile, physios at Ultra Sports Clinic in London plan to give free treatment to marathon runners who are supporting the UK-based charity Save the Rhino International.
‘Many of those running will be doing so in one of their iconic, 8kg (18lb) rhino suits,’ Ultra clinic director Ashleigh Wienand said. ‘By adding this additional load, it creates further strain on the body during such an endurance event, and this is something we will help them prepare for and then be on hand to provide specific treatment for, during and after the race.’
The plight of the rhinoceros is close to the hearts of Ms Wienand and her business partner Tasja Botha, both of whom were born in South Africa.
‘I grew up on a game farm so experienced the issues around poaching first hand.’
The vision of the charity is to have all five species of rhinoceros thriving in the wild, by collaborating with partners to support endangered rhinos in Africa.
