The CSP has responded to the biggest ever conversation about the future of the NHS. We’ve called for rehabilitation to be recognised as a core NHS service – as important as medicines and surgery.
Our calls include fully implementing MSK First Contact Physiotherapist roles, establishing Rehabilitation Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDTs) in neighbourhood centres and a redesign of rehabilitation services to meet the needs of people with multiple long-term conditions with equity embedded at the core.
We have called for bold action in the upcoming Long-Term Workforce Plan: expanding community staffing, funding physiotherapy apprenticeships, introducing loan forgiveness for AHPs, and improving CPD access to retain staff. We’re calling for strong union partnerships to make this plan a success.
