Promoting physical activity for people living with and beyond cancer: a survey of knowledge, attitude and practice of UK physiotherapists

8 February 2018 - 1:23pm

Physiotherapists required to complete this research project

Please see the invitation below to take part in the research study:

Dear colleagues

I would like to invite you to take part in a survey on the role of physiotherapy in promoting physical activity for people living with and beyond cancer. This research study forms part of the dissertation module of Jenny Collins’ Advanced Clinical Practice MSc from Teesside University. Jenny does not know who I have contacted and no information about you, nor your contact details, have been given or shown to Jenny or anyone else.

There is a growing body of research identifying the benefits of physical activity for people living with and beyond cancer. Currently a number of research studies have looked at physical activity promotion by other health professionals (oncologists, specialist nurses and GP’s) but to date there is little information about UK physiotherapists. Your responses will help to gain an understanding of the knowledge, attitude and clinical practice of physiotherapists in promoting physical activity for people living with and beyond cancer. It is anticipated that the survey should take approximately 10 mins of your time to complete.

If you are interested and would like to find out more information about participating in this study please click on the link below

Your response is requested by the 15th March 2018. Jenny has asked me to send out two reminders about her study in two and then four weeks from now. Neither Jenny nor I will ever know who has, or has not responded so please accept my apologies in advance if you have already replied, or already decided you don’t want to take part, when you receive the reminders.

Jenny Collins
